Latest advances in dental treatment assures pain free visits
When Austin Webster learned at the age of 8 he needed to have his first cavity filled, he was not unlike most boys his age.
"He was scared," his mother Tammy Webster said. "He was begging me not to make him have the cavity filled. He kept telling me his tooth was fine."

A Simple Low Cost Way to Generate Referrals
Have you ever noticed that an idea so obvious can be so elusive? When reviewing monthly statistics with my clients, we track the number of new patients and how they found their way to the practice. Dry Mouth Bad Breath
Saliva is a very important part of Oral Health. With regards to the topic of dry mouth, saliva provides three important functions:
Provides enzymes to help with digestion of food
Provides a method to stabilize the pH (keep the acid levels in check)
Provides high levels of oxygen in order to keep oral tissues healthy and fresh.
Post Op - Bonding
Teeth are living tissues that are chemically very similar to the bones in your body. They respond to trauma in a manner similar to, for example, a broken bone or banging your leg against a coffee table. In the first example of a broken bone, pain is not necessarily eliminated once a cast is placed. The placement of the cast facilitates the healing phase as new bone grows across the break.
The LifeSmile Program
There are three disease processes that are treated in dentistry:
1) decay (cavities) - a bacterial infection of the hard tooth structure. This is the major cause of tooth loss in children and the major cause of root canal infections in adults.
2) periodontal (gum) disease - a bacterial infection of the soft tissues surrounding the tooth and the supporting bone (the tooth socket). This is the major cause of bad breath, bleeding gums and tooth loss in adults.
3) traumatic occlusion (a bad bite) - a human bite exerts 200 pounds per square inch of pressure. A tooth that is not properly positioned within the dental arch absorbs more of that biting pressure than it should. This can greatly accelerate the rate of progression of periodontal disease.
Dental Fear - Phobia
Teeth are one of the most sensitive parts of our anatomy. This is a logical consequence of our evolution. The sense of touch within our teeth, along with our senses of smell and taste, help all animals differentiate food from non-food. The sensitivity of teeth is critical to our survival. Unfortunately this becomes problematic when we get a toothache.
