The Egyptian Orthodontic Society (EOS) is an independent organization devoted to the promotion of orthodontic services of the highest caliber.
All qualified orthodontists in Egypt and Egyptian orthodontists practicing abroad are eligible for regular membership.
The Society publishes the Egyptian Orthodontic Journal and organizes local and international conferences.
What is Orthodontics?
Orthodontics is a word derived from the Greek, where orthos means straight and odontos means tooth. Therefore we can say that orthodontics is the science of straightening up teeth. Orthodontics can further be divided into preventive, interceptive, and corrective orthodontics.
Therefore, this artistic branch of science requires capable, skillful and highly qualified practitioners who can deal with the entire facial complex as one unit.
What is the Egyptian Orthodontic Society?
It is the body that comprises all the qualified orthodontists in Egypt. These professional skillful practitioners have their main interest to promote and raise orthodontic service introduced within the population in their community.
It’s their goal and duty to actively participate in the advancement of the art and science of orthodontics.
Aims of the Egyptian Orthodontic Society
1- To improve the level of orthodontic treatment delivered to Egyptian population.
2- To ameliorate the clinical performance and scientific level of Egyptian orthodontists.
3- To establish an on – going channel with other orthodontic societies to share new opinions and concepts introduced in that field.
